Deuteronomy 1:43

So I spoke to you, but you would not listen. Instead you rebelled against the command of the Lord, and acted presumptuously and went up into the hill country.

God had spoken plainly to Moses about what His people were to do but they chose to ignore God’s commands and do their own thing. This brought pain, heartache and many deaths to the children of Israel. That same scenario is being played out all around us today. People choose, in total defiance of God’s commands, to live their lives in opposition to God’s law. The result is the same today as it was 6,000 years ago; pain, heartache and death. God did not create the law to make our lives miserable, He created the law to keep us from the miseries of sin. Trust God’s Word, honor God’s Word with your obedience, and you will enjoy abundant life. May we be obedient to our Father is my prayer.
