Psalm 118:6

The Lord is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?

King David spent a large portion of his life being pursued by enemies from within his own people and from other countries. They wanted him and his family dead. There were times when he was all alone and it was in those times that he learned to comfort himself in God’s Word. He knew that if God was for him there was no reason to fear the enemy. “What can man do to me?”, he said. Even if they killed him he knew God was awaiting him in heaven and that is where he got his strength from. If the spirit of fear has gripped you today, encourage yourself is God’s Word and gain strength from it’s truth. May we walk in the knowledge that God is for us and we need not fear is my prayer.
