Psalm 126:4-6

And now, God, do it again, bring rains to our drought-stricken lives. So those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest, so those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.

There’s nothing more refreshing than a good summer rain. The smell of rain water, the cooling effect on the temperature, and the washing away of the dust and dirt are just a wonderful experience. It’s the same way in our spiritual life. When we’re dry in our spirit and covered in the dirt of life a good spiritual outpouring is what we need. The Holy Spirit washes away the dirt, pours in God’s peace, and refreshes our soul. Find some time to get alone with God and allow Him to rain down on you. May we experience the rain of God’s Spirit is my prayer.
