Psalm 78:5-7

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: 6.That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: 7.That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

It seems like this generation has given our children over to other people to teach and train them. We’ve entrusted our most sacred possession, our children, to someone else and just hope they will do the right thing. God declares that the role of teaching is up to the parents. We are to train our children how to live the ways of God and we are to declare to them the testimonies of what God has done. Leaving our children’s spiritual training to someone else to perform may leave us with a generation we do not recognize. May we get back to training our children in the ways of God is my prayer.
