Psalm 98:8,9
Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity.
As traveling evangelists, there were long stretches of time where I did not see my grandparents. When my parents would announce that my grandparents were coming to see us, joy always filled my heart. I knew that they would show up with big smiles on their faces, warm embraces for everyone, and gifts for me and my brother. And, of course, there was the trip to the candy store with my Grandpa. The psalmist declares that God is coming and the whole earth will rejoice. Just like the joy over the pending visit by my grandparents, we should be joyfully looking for the coming of Christ. Rejoice, and look up, our redeemer is on His way! May we eagerly look for the coming of the Lord is my prayer.
