1Corinthians 2:4, 5

And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, (5)so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

This is what’s missing in the Church today; “the demonstration of the Spirit and the power of God”. In the age of the mega church, with it’s 1 hour program, perfect music, and rehearsed speeches the church is becoming powerless. Paul’s ministry was not so, his ministry was marked with miracles, signs, and wonders. He was led by the Spirit, not a committee, and the results of the Holy Spirit’s leadership were incredible. Paul’s submission to God’s will caused him pain and heartache, but it also brought him before Kings to declare the Gospel. If the Church is to see God’s power manifested in our midst we must seek “the demonstration of the Spirit and the power of God” once again. May we rely fully on the Holy Spirit is my prayer.
