Ruth 1:2

One day Ruth, the Moabite foreigner, said to Naomi, “I’m going to work; I’m going out to glean among the sheaves, following after some harvester who will treat me kindly.”

No where in the Bible do you find God’s blessings on slothfulness, but you do find time after time God blessing those who choose to work. Ruth declared that the risk of harm or even being raped was a better risk than sitting around the house and waiting on something to happen. She just went where the work was and started working. Deuteronomy 28:8 says, “I will bless everything you set your hand to”. If we’re working God can bless our work, but He can not bless what we’re not doing. May we work as unto the Lord and watch Him bless us is my prayer.
