For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (Titus 2:11 KJV)
From the moment our babies are born they are loved. Mom and Dad, Uncles and Aunts, Grandma and Grandpa, and even cousins immediately fall in love with this new person. It doesn’t matter how loud they cry or how nasty the diaper gets we just keep on loving them. Even when they prefer their Mother over everyone else we still keep loving them and patiently wait for the day when they will reciprocate our attention.
They don’t have to do anything to earn love except just be here. That’s exactly how God’s grace toward us is. His unmerited favor exists because we exist. He loves us before we even recognize Him and He patiently waits for us to turn our attention toward Him. Just as doting relatives hover over a new born baby, God is only a prayer away from pouring out His grace on us. May we find ourselves the recipients of the unmerited favor of God is my prayer.
