My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. (Psalms 5:3 KJV)
Many mornings during our children’s childhood years I was awakened to the sound of the sweetest voices calling out, “Daddy, Momma, Daddy, Momma”. They would continue until their Mother or I would go get them out of their bed. Most of those mornings they didn’t need anything they just wanted to be with us. As I would enter their rooms, I was always greeted with a smile and some sweet butterfly kisses, what a way to start the day! That’s exactly how God likes to start His morning. He longs for us to call out to Him, to greet Him, and to embrace Him with our morning love. He loves to hear our voice and He desires to meet our needs. May we make God our first thought and our first pursuit is my prayer.
